What do i need SSL for?

Sending sensitive data over the internet is not a good idea. As the internet is open, anyone between the server and the browser can see all traffic. - This is why it's a very good idea to use encryption technology like SSL to make sure no third parties are collecting the data (e.g. credit card numbers, login and passwords, etc. ...)
