Are you still using a SHA-1 certificate? - Get a new SHA-256 certificate for free!

SHA-1 will be deprecated very soon. To speed up the transition to new more secure algorithms, Google will make changes to the user interface in Google Chrome 39. Websites using SHA-256 certificates will be preferred by Google search engine.  These changes will be active as with November 2014.

Visit https://products.geotrust.com/orders/orderinformation/authentication.do and get access to your RapidSSL certificate. Choose SHA-256 for the new re-issued certificate. You may keep existing .key and .csr files, but the .crt has to be re-issued. You will also have to change to a new intermediate CA file. The new intermediate CA will be delivered via email together with your brand new certificate. If you have got questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!
